It is a disorder in which people compulsively pull their hair. It's a form of obsessive compulsive disorder. Some kids pull their hair as a release, others do not realize they are doing it. Kids with this condition will have patchy areas of missing and broken hair. Even when you try to stop, it can come from your scalp or other parts of your body, such as your eyebrows and other parts of your body. It occurs more often in children than in adults. Presentation severity appears higher in adolescence. As a result, adolescents and young adults are more likely to suffer from this problem for a longer period of time. Clients suffering from trichotillomania qualify for a cranial prosthesis through insurance.
